Dear EQ2 Families,
After three months of distance learning, we are excited for the opportunity to measure the academic gains our scholars have made from fall to winter. On Wednesday, December 16th, all of our scholars will once again take the MAP assessments in ELA and Math instead of their regular Wednesday school schedule. EQ2 scholars will take the MAP test from 9:00 – 2:00pm using their chromebook computers at home, and they will begin the day first by joining their regular Advisory class at 9AM as usual.

During Advisory at 9AM on Wednesday, our teachers will walk the class through the process of logging into the testing website using directions also posted on our school website’s MAP Support page at www.equitasacademy2.org/map. Families and scholars are encouraged to review the directions and troubleshooting tips on their own as well.
While testing is in session, scholars are also able to connect with live virtual support should they run into any issues by visiting our MAP Support page and finding their grade level’s support room on the left side.
Below you will find some general information regarding the MAP test, and you can always call us at 424-242-9212 for more information. Thank you for your partnership and we look forward to another successful round of MAP Testing.
Sincerely,
Wil Ko, School Director
How it works
MAP Growth is a computer-adaptive test. If your scholar answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier.
What it measures
MAP Growth uses a RIT scale to accurately measure what scholars know, regardless of their grade level. It also measures growth over time, allowing you to track your child’s progress throughout this year and across multiple years.
Your child’s RIT score
The RIT score allows teachers to accurately measure each student’s academic growth throughout the school year and over time.
What can I do to support my scholar with MAP testing?
Before MAP Test Provide your scholar with a clean, quiet, and well-lit space for scholars to work on their MAP test. Make sure your scholar gets a good night’s rest the night before the test. Scholars should eat breakfast before taking the test. |
